Life is stressful; change is difficult, and sometimes seems downright impossible. Finding a therapist with whom you feel comfortable in a non-judgmental setting is essential in gaining a new perspective and improving your quality of life. I have been a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-R) since 1990 and my goal is to help you: feel supported, increase your confidence, and help you cope with stressors that affect your daily living.

It is my job to help you learn how your mind works and to help you see your own patterns of thought and behavior.  We all have real life troubles and it is also my job to help you with your internal struggles - how you think and behave when you are down on yourself.  Do you engage in self-destructive behaviors?  Do you unwittingly invite abusive treatment?  How do you manage stress and tension in your life?  What do you do when you feel overwhelmed by life?

You and I will create a flexible treatment plan, 'tailor-made' for you, that will assist us in our work together toward achieving your goals.  I will help you gain insight, learn coping skills, and feel self-empowered.  I have over 25 years experience working with adults suffering from anxiety, depression, loss/grief/bereavement, and relationship issues.  My background includes teaching all levels of psychology at a local college, supervision of other therapists, as well as psychotherapy with individuals and couples.

I adhere to the teachings of Carl Gustav Jung: "Know your theories well and place them on the shelf when in a room with the miracle of a human soul.

Problems that we cannot 'solve' - together we WILL 'manage.'
